Uda Walawe

Uda Walawe National Park is built around the Uda Walawe Reservoir and is widely considered the best place in Sri Lanka to reliably see wild elephants, with resident herds numbering in the hundreds.

Open grasslands make wildlife easy to spot, and the park is also home to water buffalo, spotted deer, and a resident elephant transit home that rehabilitates orphaned calves before their release into the wild.
